Just back from the Sahara and wanted to let you know how it all went

Hey Greg and Team,

Just back from the Sahara and wanted to let you know how it all went…

After a slow start (thanks to a brutal induction on day 1) I managed to climb my way up the leader board to a respectable 164 place finish – including coming 137th on the double day and 103rd on the final marathon. Not bad for old chicken legs. The body held out pretty well, more so than the mind as I went through some unbelievably dark times – but then that’s half the point of it right? Left nothing in the tank and gave it everything…suffice to say the whole experience was quite sensational.

Anyway wanted to say a huge, heartfelt thanks to you and the CHHP dream team for all your support and friendship over the months leading up to the MdS; 76 Harley St is a totally unique set up and the CHHP ‘family’ are incredibly special and I feel honoured to have been able to tap in to your wealth of knowledge, experience and support over the past 12 months or so – much like the MdS the whole experience has been rich with experiences, memories and good times.

Hopefully this won’t be so much as a goodbye as a ‘see you soon’ to discuss plans for whatever the next ‘thing’ might be. Also the fish and I would love the chance to take you out for a beer at some point, so we’ll drop you a line about that once back in the land of the living.

Thanks as always and please pass on my thanks to Holly and all the other legends as well.

Billy

p.s. here’s the moment the race founder handed over the goods, which was promptly followed by a kiss…which is not what i was after following 6 days and 6 marathons…at least not by a Frenchman
