Experienced snow-sport physiotherapists Rob Madden and James Vickers run the Ski and Snowboard Clinic here at CHHP. Both specialise in snow related injuries, including specific prehab or rehab from surgery. They also run tailored pre-season conditioning programs aimed at reducing injuries and improving performance on the snow. The Ski and Snowboard Clinic works closely with the Major Challenges Clinic aimed at optimising performance at high altitude.
Rob has worked in high level snowboarding since 2008. Over the last 5 seasons he has held roles for the British and Canadian Olympic Teams as well as working with a number of other highly ranked professionals. He has worked at multiple events worldwide including World Championships and multiple XGames. As well as working at CHHP, he was the Physiotherapist for the Canadian Freestyle Snowboard Team up to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. He is an avid snowboarder and has enjoyed riding for over a decade.
James has worked with the British alpine skiers since 2009. Travelling to World Cup events and to the Vancouver Winter Olympics where he was a highly valued member of Team GB. He developed ACL injury prevention strategies and implemented strength and conditioning programs for the athletes. Consequently he is very knowledgeable on ski specific conditioning. He is a passionate skier with a family history of mountaineers. For James adventuring into the back-country is where the action begins.
