What is Frozen Shoulder?

Frozen shoulder (also known as adhesive capsulitis) is a condition that occurs when soft tissue around the shoulder, called the capsule, becomes inflamed, contracted and stiff.

The result is a restriction of movement and commonly, an extremely painful shoulder.

Injection Therapy

Research has shown that shoulder injection therapy combined with specialised physiotherapy is one of the most effective methods of treatment for Frozen Shoulder.

The injections may include cortisone (steroid) and/or hydrodistention (using salty water) procedures. Our specialist physiotherapists will determine whether this approach may be of benefit for you. To help make this decision, please fill in the Pre-Injection Screening Questionnaire and bring it with you for the appointment. This care pathway has been carefully researched and published. If you would like further information contact us for a patient guide.
