What is Frozen Shoulder?

Frozen shoulder (also known as adhesive capsulitis) is a condition that occurs when soft tissue around the shoulder, called the capsule, becomes inflamed, contracted and stiff.

The result is a restriction of movement and commonly, an extremely painful shoulder.

What is The Frozen Shoulder Clinic?

Research has shown that shoulder injection therapy combined with specialised physiotherapy is one of the most effective methods of treating a Frozen Shoulder.

At Marylebone Health (CHHP) Frozen Shoulder Clinic we specialise in this approach and have developed a care pathway to yield optimum results for our clients.

The care pathway package includes:

  • Up to 10 x Rehabilitation Consultations with one of our Specialist Physiotherapist team.
  • Specialist referrals for ultrasound guided injection procedures. These consultations may also include tailoring of the rehabilitation program.
  • Please note the cost of an X-ray which may be required is not included in the package and will be provided externally.

Injection Therapy

Research has shown that shoulder injection therapy combined with specialised physiotherapy is one of the most effective methods of treatment for Frozen Shoulder.

The injections may include cortisone (steroid) and/or hydrodistention (using salty water) procedures. Our specialist physiotherapists will determine whether this approach may be of benefit for you.

This care pathway has been carefully researched and published. If you would like further information contact us for more details.
