Tom Cowan is an Exercise Physiologist at the world-leading Harley Street clinic, Centre for Health and Human Performance (CHHP), and has been based on Harley Street for over 5 years, specialising in exercise prescription for cancer and cardiac patients.
Tom’s work has seen him become recognised as an expert by Public Health England and the Faculty for Sport and Exercise Medicine, who selected him to become a member of their Cancer and Exercise expert panel for their Moving Medicine project. Tom has also presented research into preventing cardiovascular disease at international conferences as well as frequently contributing for several well-known health and fitness magazines.
Tom’s expertise spans from working with the most complex clinical cases to elite performers, having previously been First Team Sports Scientist for Chelsea Football Club. Tom counts a wide range of individuals amongst his clientele; international sports stars, celebrities, amateur athletes, clinical patients and individuals looking to improve their health and fitness, with goals such as weight loss and body composition improvements, reduction of cardiovascular disease risk factors e.g. blood pressure and cardiovascular fitness and strength improvements.
Tom is accredited by both the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) and the Register of Exercise Professionals and has a First-Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University.
When he’s not in clinic you’ll find Tom on the football pitch or practising his dance moves!
