Dr. Jim Brown is a Consultant Respiratory Physician & Sleep specialist at CHHP. Along with our executive medical team, Jim also leads some of our key programmes for long-term health. Dr. Brown trained in London including a period of research at University College London (novel optical diagnostics in respiratory disease including secondment to the Diamond synchrotron particle accelerator facility, Oxford); the results of his research were widely reported in the international press. Dr Brown also undertook a BSc in exercise physiology as part of his medical training and further went on to study lifestyle medicine.
Dr Brown has a strong interest in innovation within medicine and has established international research collaborations, training courses within the UK and, raised the funds and has launched a charity supporting respiratory research called Lungs for Living.
Dr Brown has trained in all aspects of respiratory medicine and has undertaken additional training developing sub-specialty expertise in lung cancer and sleep medicine. Jim qualified in sleep medicine at UCLH and the London Chest Hospital and specialises in sleep optimisation here at CHHP. Recently he completed a course in cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) at Oxford University. When he’s not in clinic you’ll find Jim relaxing with his family in Greece and researching the latest med tech.
