The Performance Clinic
An intensive series of consultations provides a bespoke diet for training and competition to optimise the bodies fuelling, hydration and recovery, through diet and appropriate supplementation.
The performance clinic consists of the following components;
- FatMax Exercise Test – Measure how your body uses different fuels (carbohydrate/fat) at different intensities.
- A series of consultations – To guide you through core performance nutrition concepts and apply to your diet
- Regular body composition analysis (assessing body fat & muscle mass)
- Annual bloods (where required) – screening key health and nutrition markers
James Collins leads the Performance Nutrition clinic at CHHP. Acknowledged as a leading practitioner his field, James has worked as consultant nutritionist for Arsenal Football Club and the England Football Team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, to name just a few. Within elite sport, he has also worked with the GB Olympic teams and individuals across the last 2 Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 and London 2012. James now specialises in applying nutrition to other high performance environments across the world.
James sits on The Royal Society of Medicine’s ‘Food and Health’ Council and, is a Registered Sport & Exercise Nutritionist. Following his study of both Human and Exercise Nutrition in the USA and UK, James completed his Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Loughborough University. He then added The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, awarded by the Medical Commission, in Lausanne, Switzerland.
